TR-HOP-ICAL

Getting away this year may be difficult for many of us, so we're bringing the tropics to you with our brand-new DDH Pale Ale.

Pull up a deckchair and bask in the aroma of sweet fruits and berries.  Be refreshed with a dash of zingy citrus, and soak up hints of cherry and banana.
This is all courtesy of the new hop variety HBC 630 - an experimental hop developed by the Hop Breeding Company and supplied to us by Yakima Chief.

Formed in 2003, the Hop Breeding Company (HBC) is a joint venture between John I. Haas, Inc. and Yakima Chief Ranches.  The mission of the venture is to develop new hop varieties available for all brewers around the world.

Over the past year we have worked closely in collaboration with them and have been lucky enough to be able to brew with some amazing brand-new unique and difficult to come-by hop varieties.

From HBC 630, you can expect a complex and fruity taste, with sweet fruits and berries like raspberry and cherry, along with candy-like esters and lactones giving creamy notes of peach and banana. HBC 630 was born from a 2008 cross between HBC 364 and male parent 21-10-21.

Brewed with a mixture of HBC 630 in T90 pellets form and Cryo form and hopped at a rate of 16g / L (a mountain of hops) this beer is clean, fruity and perfect to keep you going on a hot summers day.

The barbecue beer of the year!

TR-HOP-ICAL will be on the shelves exclusively at Tesco from 8th March.
