MORE HOPS IN YOUR TR-HOP-ICAL…

The most exciting thing about working in the modern brewing industry is that we never stand still.  We’re always looking for ways to raise our game, and if this means tweaking our recipes then we’ll do it. 

When we developed TR-HOP-ICAL earlier this year, we focused on brewing a sessionable single hopped beer with the new experimental hop HBC 630. We were really pleased with the end result - a light, clean and very drinkable DDH Pale Ale.  

It’s a great beer, but we think we can make it even better. Whilst HBC 630 is a beautiful hop, it’s not as potent as some other hops we use. The aroma is nice, but perhaps a little too subtle for modern tastes. So we think It’ll work better with some friends to help it out.

We’ve changed up the whirlpool hop-charge by adding Citra Cryo hops, whilst in the dry-hop we’ve added Mosaic Cryo and Galaxy.  Between them we’re adding more robust layers of tropical fruit flavours and aromas – so TR-HOP-ICAL can really live up to its name.

We’ve also done something else to increase the hoppiness of TR-HOP-ICAL – we’ve added more hops!  To really help those flavours shine, we’ve boosted the additions by 25%.  That’s guaranteed to do the job!
