Welcome to the Rider Information Pack for the inaugural Vocation Gears & Beers event. Something new for us, but something we have long wanted to do. The pack should hopefully act as a ‘One Stop Shop’ for any questions you may have and summarise what to expect on the day.
Firstly, our grateful thanks for entering the ride and supporting our chosen charity Overgate Hospice. Overgate should need no introduction to the work and support they carry out locally and the ride will help raise more funds. Please take time to say hello to their volunteers on the day and further support them in their raffle (that’s my polite way of saying bring some cash too!) The Overgate team will be at the Start/Finish and at the two ‘food options’ on the Road Route.
Check In/Ride Out
Please arrive at the above address no earlier than 8.15am. A Car Park attendant will be on site for those using 4 wheels initially. Bike Stands will be provided on the Grass Area between our Head Office and Craggies Farm Shop with Rider Check In taking place inside Craggies. Please bring along proof of entry on your phone or in paper format. Your Ride Bag and Gifts will be allocated there (but can be kept safe until after the event)
Ride Out
Road - Whilst advertised as 9.30am, if you or your group are ready, please set off at your own leisure once all checked in.
Off Road – Given the nature of the route, ride out will remain as 9.30am (although phased) to ensure the group remains together for as long as possible.
Retirements/Incidents
If, in theunfortunate event that you must retire from the road event, please contact our on-coursesupport van on 07720 471112 who will be able to collect you if needed. As with any road incident, please contact therelevant emergency service and also report to the support van. If you return home towards the end of eachroute and choose not to return to the brewery, please also contact the supportvan giving your name. If you retire from the Off Road route, please contactEmma on 07770 935241
Back at The Brewery
Once you return to the Brewery please check in with a ride official ASAP.
After the ride, Craggies will be providing food (for a smallcharge) and our Land Rover Defender Bar will be open for drinks. The Defender will be a Card Only Bar. Our DJGlenn Kershaw has provided his time free of charge to keep the music playing. The‘hub’ will be around the covered outdoor seating at Craggies.
Cycle Gear (Halifax) will also be present all day and havekindly offered some basic cycle repairs there and then for a donation toOvergate Hospice. Challenge Tires will also be present.
Although noone likes to ‘stop the party’ we envisage drawing a close to the day at around6pm (although you may find the band of volunteers in Hebden Bridge not longafter!)
The event ishopefully the first of many to follow, but please be patient as it is ourfirst! We will be providing a feedback form in the week following and will actas appropriate for the next ride out. All organisers and volunteers on the day are giving up their own time toensure everything runs as smoothly as possible.
Finally, ourthanks to all our sponsors who have contributed towards the event to ensure ourcontribution to Overgate can be the maximum it can be.
The Routes
Please take special note once more of points 3 to 8 in the Terms and Conditions in the next tab. I am sure you willappreciate the time and effort that has gone into pulling the day together butas always, common sense and experience needs to take precedence when out on theride.
GPS Linksfor all routes can be found below, and we have tried to highlight some parts ofthe road route where directions may not be as obvious using the Street ViewImages. Off Road Riders, please stick to the plan!
