 About the role 

Your role as On-trade Logistics Coordinator is to manage our distribution fleet and our team of drivers as well as our relationship with our pallet network haulier. You'll ensure efficient and cost effective deliveries at the same standards of the beer that’s being delivered. We are looking for an individual who is flexible with their approach to work, a good team player with a great eye for detail but is able to see the bigger picture of a problem in front of them.  Our transport team are our face to On-trade customers and we have always delivered outstanding service and have a reputation of being the best in our area, the Logistics Coordinator is critical to keeping this high level of services as we continue to grow.

Understanding the whole supply chain is important so that you can coordinate it effectively and liaise with various stakeholders in and outside the business.  This role ties together the work of the sales and production teams, ensuring that the orders we receive for on trade and wholesale customers are delivered on time and in full whether that be locally via our own vehicles or nationally.  

 Responsibilities:  

  • Maintaining service levels to all internal and external customers year-round through management of our fleet of vans and the use of external hauliers and by working with the warehouse manager who is responsible for accurate and timely picking of orders
  • Manage the team of drivers including monthly one to ones, holiday approvals, sickness cover, day to day management& KPI setting
  • Manage all delivery schedules and route planning to ensure customer get their orders when they expect to, maximise efficiency, fuel & ensuring vans are within weight limits.Communicating with customers where issues arise
  • Organising vehicle maintenance and repairs, ordering and raising POs for vehicle consumables
  • Attending weekly sales meetings, liaising with both sales and production teams to inform of any issues affecting on-trade service.
  • Maintaining effective communication with sales team & sales admin if delivery service levels are affected
  • Making sure all returns are collected and returned to the correct location, communicating with the relevant stakeholders to ensure these are processed correctly in the system
  • Source new vehicles and organise sale of old vehicles as required
  • Managing stock of on-trade POS and consumables, placing replenishment orders as required

Key Skills and Experience

  • 2+ years’ experience in a Transport, Logistics or Supply Chain Management role
  • A logical and systematic approach to work
  • Good time management
  • The ability to solve problems and make decisions quickly, as well as think laterally and offer creative solutions
  • Commercial awareness and numeracy skills
  • Good handle of IT literacy and the ability to handle electronic data
  • The ability to manage improvements and changes to the current system and train this out amongst the relevant stakeholders
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well as part of a team, as well as manage people
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Negotiation and analytical skills
  • A positive attitude to continued learning.

Key results: 

  • Ensure Deliveries are made within requested timescales where reasonable
  • Ensure vehicles are inspected and maintained on a regular basis
  • Ensure driver team uplift enough empty cask/keg to assist production
  • Manage staffing levels to ensure that delivery service levels are not affected
