Like everyone else, we’ve been watching the unfolding disaster in Ukraine with horror.
So when it came to this week’s long-planned beer release it seemed crass to be putting out a Russian Imperial Stout as though nothing was happening. We discussed pulping the labels and starting from scratch, but instead decided to do something a bit more positive.
So for this batch we’ll be donating all profits to the Disasters Emergency Committee Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal (www.dec.org.uk/appeal/ukraine-humanitarian-appeal). The money raised will help to provide families fleeing the conflict with food water, shelter, healthcare and protection.
Our thoughts are with the people of Ukraine.

A grist loaded with chocolate malt and roasted barley, coupled with an extended boil are the key elements that set the foundation for this classic Imperial Stout
Flavours of dark chocolate, roasted cocoa, oak and a gentle smokiness pour an oily black. The 7 months resting in bourbon barrels has softened the finish with notes of oak and vanilla.
