Barrel Aged Series | Double Maple & Pecan 9.2%

One year later and this beer is finally making its long awaited return...Double Maple & Pecan is back.

Winner of the Beer of The Year 2020, as voted by you. We've revived this winning recipe and re-brewed this much loved Stout with our friends at Double-Barrelled. The first brew of Double Maple and Pecan was released on 26th November 2020, so almost a year to the day we've brought back this fan favourite.

Reimagined at a higher ABV, this decadent slice of Americana is warming, smooth and sweet. 

This rebrew has been Barrel Aged for 10 months in Bourbon barrels, and brewed to the same recipe as last time; double mashed with 6 malts, maple and muscovado sugar, with extra maple added after the barrel ageing. 

This brew is part of our ever expanding Barrel Aged Programme. We recently took on an extra unit to store all of our barrels…
We now have over 400 barrels, with approx. 12 different varieties, including bourbon, cognac, and various types of wines & single malts. We have a range of styles in there including a few types of sours and barley wines, it’s not all stouts! We plan to expand this further at some point in 2022, with even more varieties of barrels.

Overseeing the Barrel Ageing Programme is Gary who has moved over from the brewery to become Head of Beer Development & Innovation. He will oversee the barrel store, recipe creation & development, explore various projects around the brewery, and to a lesser extent be a face for the brewery, i.e. at events and collaborations!
